Jamaican me crazy

Image
Well everyone it's been a fast week. The work is a little slow but I had some really cool experiences. I was out finding some new friends on Jamaica Avenue when I invited this little Hispanic man to church. He spoke no english but he said yes and asked what church. I told him what church and he started to get so excited then he proceeded to give me a hug. A day later when the Spanish speaking missionaries called him they told me that he had almost been baptized back in Mexico but wasn't able to as he moved here so quickly. But it's a miracle that God put us in each other's paths. The Amaya family we have been teaching are finally getting baptized. They've had missionaries trying to help them be baptized for years. Kinda crazy that we are the last missionaries in this part of the work. There is 5 of them. Please keep them in your prayers. Herson, Hailey, Iverson, aiden, shivanie. We are so happy to help them out and really help strengthen their family relationships...

Another Monday Another email

Well this has been yet again another adventurous week in Jamaica queens. God has really been working with me lately. Teaching me lots of patience haha. Earlier this week I asked a crazy man if he Wanted to come to church, and he went on this rampage and got in my face, a couple inches away. If you really know me well, I don't handle that very well. In my head, I wanted to knock his teeth out, but I knew I was wearing a badge, so I told him simply but firmly to get out of my face. Right before I went to turn around to walk away, he told me to hit him, boy, he wanted it. I know the spirit was with me, or else I would've lost it with the man. I'm honestly trying my hardest to be patient even with the most difficult people. Please pray for me to have patience, haha. We did teach a few really good lessons. One of the. Being the Amaya family. All 5 of them are working towards baptism. The fathers whole family are members. He's struggling with coming to church, and there hav...

Jamaica queens baby girl

Sorry i didnt write an email last week, it was a busy monday. I had to pack everything and still be a missionary. Well idk how many of you know this but I'm living in Jamaica queens now and the mission is flying by. Pretty soon I'll have been a missionary for 4 months. Pretty crazy if you ask me.  I'm learning alot this transfer. I think I needed the transfer but God knew most definitely. I'm growing alot every single day and my skills will only go up from here. Jamaica is a crazy place. Not many white people. I feel like an albino walking around. There's lots of people that have chewed me out or screamed in my face or right behind me and followed me a block or two. The amount of weed that is smoked in Jamaica or sold haha is absolutely ridiculous. You don't see much weed in Idaho, but newyork that's a whole different Animal. We found 57 new people that wanted to come to church this last week so id say it went pretty good. We taught 5-6 lessons only 3 people...
