Bautismo

Well this past week wasn't too crazy. Last monday i went hot wheel hunting(trying to find hot wheels that are worth money). I didn't end up finding anything but thats ok because i'm running out of space to put them(im at 27 hot wheels). This week I went on an exchange with a few different missionaries. One was with elder Hamilton for the zone exchange and the other was with a zone leader so that was cool because I don't really know them. Had a really good time. We saw a lot of crazy people this week especially. We had a baptism this week for our friend jose. Hes 18 years old and it's really cool because I feel like I can relate to him on a few things, one of which is not knowing what to do with his life now that hes graduated. I know that god truly does have a plan for each and every one of us and I know that all my choices and paths i chose after highschool led up to this moment and I know why im here. Its been a test thats for sure but i've got a testimony of this gospel and nothing can take that away from me. I had the chance to baptise and confirm jose and after the service he had the opportunity to share his testimony. Friday night he texted us and he had doubts about the baptism and was worried about committing to it so he came by on saturday and we had a study and really went over repentance with him again. None of us are perfect and that includes me... yes.. I know but I still make mistakes. Through the atonement,Scripture study and sacrament we can truly change. He talked about how scared he was in his testimony but after he was baptised all that fear left him. He truly has a testimony and thats through prayer and through the book of mormon. If any of you are struggling with  your testimony or that are struggling to find your testimony please read the promise on the book of Mormon(last two paragraphs). I know that the book of Mormon is true.

As far as today goes we went out to a place called city island where we were able to walk around and see the bay. We stopped at this antique toy store and there was every antique toy imaginable. Of course they had bins full of old hot wheels and im just not sure which ones were worth buying. i did snag a hot wheels belt buckle thats from 1981 that was pretty cool.  They wanted 15 dollars for it so i gave them 10 dollars and they took it. The lady at the counter told me that they had a bunch of old hot wheels in the basement and that she couldn't get them because there was other people in the store so she told me i could come back at s later tme.I really wanted to cry. Transfers are on tuesday so maybe ill stay and we can go there at another time. Anyways ill write next wee. send me your adress if you want me to write you a letter.

Love, Elder Mikkola
